Metallica decided to drop by and put on two amazing shows at the Air Canada Centre. Naturally we had to go see both of them. My buddy Tim even flew out to come see the show with us. Both shows were awesome, they changed up the set list a lot between the two shows, so each night felt fresh and different. I really like their current stage setup too!
The stage sits in the middle of the arena, which gives everyone a decent view. It also makes front row a lot less squashing since there's a lot more front row area! Lars' drum kit rotates during the show and everyone's constantly running around, so you really get to see each band member up close.
The first night we did the usual wait in line for hours to get up to front row, which is always good times. We were only about 5 feet away from the stage!! I hadn't seen them since they released Death Magnetic, so it was awesome seeing those songs live for the first time.
The second night they switched it up and basically played a lot of the songs from the new record that they didn't play the night before, and changed up most of the older ones too. Only thing was, for the first time in my life, we had seats!! They were pretty good, and as you can see I brought the camera and got some decent shots, but SEATS?! AT A METALLICA SHOW?! Of course, grounds were sold out, otherwise I never would've gotten seats... So surreal being up there instead of down in the mosh pits...
