We went on a little excursion to see the Nuit Blanche festivities last weekend. The premise was all sorts of different kinds of art displayed for free on the streets of Toronto. There was artwork plastered all over Toronto's downtown.

Only problem was: I didn't really get it

I like artwork, and I can usually appreciate weird things a bit more than others, and there were some really cool things to see. But most of the things that was on display didn't really do much of anything for me.

Like I said though, some of the art was genuinely cool, we found this band of about 10 people playing just about every kind of instrument you can imagine, in ways you wouldn't normally play them. Like a flute amplified through a guitar amp with overdrive, pots, pans, ... it was cool, the music was almost trance inducing.

City Hall had a huge display of four lit up letters that kept changing and a creepy robotic voice 'reading' them to the crowd below.
